The Mysterious Room

Hello. My name is Angel Paramitha. This is my horror story in the past 10 years ago when I was a freshman in one of the big colleges in Bandung. I was a student of Management major. At that time, I was still a new student who looked for a comfortable boarding house. I found a big one. It looked luxurious with fully equipped facilities and the cost was quite expensive, but that was not a big deal for me. The facilities over there were a quite big room, kitchen, and a gathering room complete with a TV. I thought it would make me felt comfortable, so I took it. I was placed on one of the rooms on the second floor by the owner of that house because all the rooms on the first floor were full. I accepted it with my pleasure because my roommate was a nice girl. She was my senior, she was 1 year older than me, and we became friends since the first time we met. Her name is Rani.

On the first day, I stayed there, everything was fine and I did not feel something strange. As a new member in my boarding house, day by day I felt really curious about the whole house. Therefore, I started walking around inside. The atmosphere on the second floor was fine, but when I walked down into the first floor, it felt different. I felt a bit frightened when I stood alone at the gathered room. The gathered room was wide. It was bigger and wider than my room but over there was deserted. I looked around, there were a short wooden table in the middle of the room, a quite old long sofa, the old TV, and the kitchen next to this room. Not only that, but I also found the mysterious room. It was located at the corner of the gathered room. That room was locked and the door was dusty. It looked like an empty room for years. Afterwards, I went up again and asked my roommate. I asked, "Miss Rani, do you know about the empty room on the first floor? It is locked and looks so dusty." She replied, "Girl, actually there is someone hired that room but recently she is not here.” I was still curious, then I asked her again, “Are you sure? But that room looks like unorganized and nobody stays there for years.” Miss Rani warned me, ”Angel, listen to what I said before, and don’t try to go inside!” At that time, I was a stubborn girl, so I did not listen to her.

At the next day, Miss Rani went out for a day, so I plucked up my courage to go inside. At first, I tried to open the locked door by pushing it hard but it did not work. I decided to call my close friend to ask for a help. His name is Andy. After a few minutes I was waiting for him, finally, he came while bringing sort of a hook. He tried to open the door using that hook, and unbelievable, it opened. I asked him to come inside first because I was really scared. He opened the door slowly, then we found a lot of unexpected things. First, we found lots of fresh jasmine flower are spread out on the floor. Second, there was a new red waist bag on the table next to the door. I was surprised and I thought how could there was this bag inside the empty room. Third, Andy checked the wardrobe at the left side of the table. He also found lots of mysterious things. He found a graduation certificate, a photo of a child which is written “I love you” behind it, finger piece wears ring then he put it in his pocket, and a big brown envelope which there were a shroud full of blood and wide batik cloth inside. Fourth, we found a bed that is covered by a wide white coverlet. Because of the wide size, the coverlet could touch the floor. We walked there slowly, then Andy lift up the coverlet and we saw a small mausoleum. After that, I asked Andy to get out because I was really scared. Andy locked the door again and he went home. At the next day, I was still frightened and my condition became worse when I heard Andy passed away mysteriously. I got depressed for months due to that factor until I could not continue my study. That was why I graduated from college 6 years later.
